As discussed in Part 1, for a new Business Central v28 environment, the Quality Management extension is installed automatically by default. However, if your environment is upgraded from an earlier version, such as v27 to v28, then the extension may not be available automatically and needs to be installed manually from Microsoft AppSource Apps.
In this blog, we will go through the step-by-step process to manually install the Quality Management extension in an upgraded Business Central environment.
Steps:
Search for: Microsoft AppSource Apps. Open the page.
In the search box, type: Quality Management. You may see many apps with the same or similar name from different publishers.
Make sure you select the app where:
Name: Quality Management
Publisher Name: Microsoft
Open the selected app and verify the details. This confirms that you are installing the Microsoft extension.
Click Install App. Business Central may show an installation confirmation message. In some environments, you may also see a generic AppSource warning message.
If the selected app shows Publisher = Microsoft, you can continue with the installation.
Click Install.
Business Central will install the extension. Your session may refresh after installation.
Step 7: Search for Quality Management Setup
After installation, Business Central may ask: Do you want to run the initial setup?
Click Yes. This opens the Quality Management Setup page. On the Quality Management Setup page, configure the required settings
Installing the Quality Management extension in Business Central v28 is simple, but you must ensure that you select the app published by Microsoft
After installation, run the initial setup and configure the inspection triggers based on your business requirements.
