A new era of process excellence begins

2026 is off to a powerful start. Microsoft and Mavim have officially signed a collaboration agreement that brings a fresh wave of innovation to the Dynamics 365 and agentic ecosystem. This moment marks a major milestone, one that elevates both organizations and strengthens the foundation for a more connected, process‑driven digital transformation landscape for customers and Microsoft Partners.

Microsoft FastTrack has selected Mavim as the tool of choice for its Business Process Excellence program for Dynamics 365 transformations. Even more exciting: the Dynamics 365 Business Process Catalog will now be powered entirely by Mavim, with all new Microsoft quarterly updates surfaced through Mavim’s process visualization platform.

Transforming business processes with agentic AI

The next wave of Microsoft-focused digital transformation is not just about automation, it’s about Agentic AI actively driving continuous improvement across the enterprise. Together, Microsoft and Mavim are enabling this shift by combining the intelligence of Microsoft Copilot with the structure, governance, and clarity of the Business process catalog in Mavim.

Agentic AI needs strong process foundations

Agentic AI systems can plan, reason, take action, and orchestrate workflows, but only when they’re grounded in a clear understanding of how the business actually operates.

This is where Mavim plays a critical role.

With the new collaboration:
  • The Business Process Catalog becomes the single source of truth for how Dynamics 365 processes should run.
  • Mavim provides the governance layer for the entire lifecycle, clear ownership, versioning, policies, and controlled change.
  • Agentic AI can safely optimize, simulate, or recommend improvements because it is anchored to governed, validated processes.
This is the foundation of trustworthy, enterprise-grade AI.

With processes documented, visualized, and continuously updated inside Mavim, organizations can now leverage Microsoft agentic AI to:
  • Analyze process gaps and inefficiencies
  • Identify automation opportunities
  • Recommend standardization or harmonization across business units
  • Generate optimized process variants aligned to Microsoft best practices
  • Trigger workflows, updates, or actions based on process intent
It’s no longer about static documentation, it's about living processes continuously improved through AI-driven insights.

Governance + AI = Real Transformation

The combination of Mavim and Microsoft’s AI capabilities allows companies to close the loop between:
  1. Process governance — ensuring processes are defined, approved, followed, and optimized
  2. Process execution — how they actually run in Dynamics 365
  3. AI optimization — using agentic AI to propose and automate changes
This creates a self-improving process ecosystem where:
  • Changes are governed
  • Best practices are maintained
  • AI accelerates improvement cycles
  • Risk is controlled
  • Innovation moves faster
It’s the new model for operational excellence in the AI era.

Why this collaboration matters

This collaboration signals the start of a new chapter where Mavim becomes an even stronger driver of business modernization inside the Microsoft ecosystem. Together, we are shaping the next generation of process excellence for Dynamics 365 customers, partners, and software development companies. Three major outcomes are already taking shape.

1. A Fully modernized business process catalog

Microsoft will integrate Mavim visuals into the Dynamics 365 Implementation Portal with Business Process Catalog and project profiling, offering customers clearer, more intuitive, and more actionable representations of their business processes.

This means:

  • A unified view of Microsoft’s reference processes
  • Interactive visualizations powered by Mavim
  • Process maps that align directly to Dynamics 365 functionality
  • Quarterly Microsoft updates automatically published into Mavim

Customers will no longer have to chase documentation; it comes to them, structured and ready to use.

2. A boost for partners across the ecosystem

Microsoft is using Mavim not only for its own catalog, but also plans to recognize Software Development Companies (formerly known as ISVs) and System Integrators who adopt Mavim for documenting or visualizing their solution processes.
Partners who align their process models with Microsoft’s will:

  • Improve visibility into their solutions
  • Enhance fit-gap and solution design phases
  • Accelerate customer onboarding and adoption
  • Strengthen co-sell opportunities

This sets out a new standard for consistency and clarity across the entire Dynamics ecosystem.

3. A next-level customer experience for transformations

FastTrack and Dynamics customers will benefit from a more predictable, transparent, and efficient transformation journey. With Mavim becoming a part of the Business Process Excellence program, organizations can now:

  • Jumpstart implementations with well-defined process baselines
  • Map organizational maturity against Microsoft’s reference models
  • Identify gaps early and accurately
  • Document process decisions centrally throughout the project
  • Enable a stronger transition from implementation to operations

The result: Less risky Pre-Sales, Faster implementations, higher adoption, business value realization, and more confident decision-making.

What’s new in the business process catalog

In the new March 2026 release of the business process catalog, which is available now for download at https://aka.ms/businessprocesscatalog, customers and partners will start seeing many new features including, but not limited to the following:

  • Updated best-practice processes across Dynamics 365 workloads
  • Process models connected to product capabilities
  • More transparent fit-gap analysis experiences
  • Actionable process views tied to real transformation milestones
  • A consistent visual language for business processes
  • Improved relationships in the topics to increase visibility and enhance filtering capabilities

And because everything is housed in Mavim, the catalog becomes dynamic, always current, and deeply integrated into the Microsoft ecosystem. To learn more about the new release, see What’s New in the Business Process Catalog – March 2026.
