Now Live! Project Onboarding Wizard in Dynamics 365 Implementation Portal.

We are excited to announce the release of the Project Onboarding Feature in the Dynamics 365 Implementation Portal. Creating the project in the Implementation Portal is the first step to take advantage of all the features that Portal has to provide. To simplify this crucial step and to strengthen our aim of enabling self-serve capabilities, the user-friendly Onboarding Wizard serves as a guiding tool, ensuring a seamless transition from project initiation to gaining access to valuable insights and recommendations throughout the Dynamics 365 implementation lifecycle. Key Features of the Onboarding Wizard include:
 
  • User-Friendly Interface: The Onboarding Wizard boasts an intuitive and user-friendly interface, designed to make the onboarding process accessible for users of all technical backgrounds. It acts as a virtual assistant, walking users through each step of project creation with clear instructions and prompts.
  • Immediate Project creation: Upon completion of the onboarding process, the project becomes instantly available for all portal users and administrators, streamlining collaboration and ensuring that stakeholders have swift access to project resources.
  • Data Privacy Considerations: While the Implementation guidance is general for all projects and users, to adhere to data privacy guidelines, if the implementation is done for a different tenant other than the user's tenant it triggers an approval flow. Information such as Customer name and telemetry insights would be available only after the tenant reviewers approve the request. This ensures compliance with data protection regulations and builds trust with customers.
The implementation portal is based on Success by Design, a systematic approach for successful cloud deployment that was developed by Microsoft. Success by Design provides prescriptive guidance for designing, building, and deploying your new Dynamics 365 solution. The Onboarding Wizard represents a pivotal advancement in the journey towards a successful Dynamics 365 implementation. By guiding users through the creation of their projects, facilitating reviews, offering relevant guidance, this tool ensures that businesses can harness the full potential of Dynamics 365 with confidence and efficiency.
