Unable to install CRM in a new Node to existing CRM 2011 UR12 environment.

Error Message:

The product key is not compatible with the installed version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

Issue occurs during System Checks. WEB Server doesn't have access to Internet and Issue occurs when tried to Install CRM from RTM Bits and CRM with UR6 bits.

Resolution:

  1. Download the setup updates by visiting the following Microsoft website:
    Setup Update for Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server 2011
  2. Copy to the WEB Server where we need to install CRM.
  3. Extract the file, The Microsoft Update catalog will create a folder that uses the name of the download and  then copies a .cab file into the folder. In this case, a Setup Update for Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server 2011 folder is created. Open the .cab file to view the .msp file(s). The .cab file will contain all 25 languages that Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server 2011 supports.
  4. Extract the .msp file to the location of your choice.
  5. Create a Config.xml file for the setup process.
    Below is an example of a config.xml file.

    <CRMSetup>
    <Server>
    <Patch update="true"> The path to your .msp file (For example: c:\temp\ Server_KB2434455_amd64_1033.msp)</Patch>
    </Server>
    </CRMSetup>

Open Command prompt and go to the path where we have CRM with UR6 bits and execute the below command.

      SetupServer.exe /config <Path where you saved the config.xml file>\Config.xml
