When a link is shown on the tablet edition of the official Dynamics CRM app, the user is unable to press the link and spawn a browser instance.
I am working with a client that requires this functionality. Essentially it is a custom text field of the type URL.
In the phone version of the app you can press the link and it will open the browser as expected. This does not happen in tablet edition.
Any suggestions on the likelihood of a fix that I can make or the MS could make or is there perhaps a clever workaround that someone has come up with?
I believe this is by design - I thought it was odd as well that it didn't open the link as well. I might be worth making a suggestion on the Connect site for this feature.
If you are on 2015 - perhaps there is the possibility of using an iFrame with that link (restrictions apply)?
Otherwise can you use the option to open the record in the browser and then use the link? That isn't really practical I know but it is an option.
Wonder if you should try to reload the App. maybe this will help or look to see if there is an upgrade for that tablet app.

It's CRM Online so will move to 2015 in due course so may be an irritation for the client until we can use the 2015 functionality.
