I'm currently implementing Dynamics CRM 2015 in a retail customer. They're using Dynamics AX 2012 R2 for all of their operations. They use products and products master (with product variants).
I'm mapping the product catalog in CRM for creating sales orders using Dynamics Connector. The CRM product catalog is already integrated with AX, but is missing the product variants. I thought mapping the InventDimCombination and InventDim Ax tables in CRM, but I'm not sure if is the best approach.
Does anyone have done this before? Maybe you could share some ideas for implementing this scenario.
Thanks in advance!
I have done integration of variants from NAV to CRM. The variants are not a separate entity in CRM so you need to create it and as far AX CRM integration is concerned you will have to create a separate map as well and that variant should be having lookup to the product as well as the opportunity/quote/order lines in CRM so that can be shown o n form. As far as table of AX is concerned I am not versed with it well but can suggest you that apart from lookup mentioned above create a single entity on CRM side and make fields in CRM mostly as text. Try creating a view/page on AX side which combines both tables so that you can integrate with single CRM entity.
