I'm having a issue with the system automatically changing the owner of a task to their business unit. I currently have no active workflow that would change the owner of a task. The one workflow I do have in place is for the owner of a contact to change to the business unit after 4 hours. The problem is when that happens the task that is related is also changing owners. This is only happening to contacts that are created in the same day, would running a trace right before it changes tell me what is causing this to happen?
This is due to the Cascading relationship between Contacts and Activities. You will have to change the Cascading relationship to Configurable and disable reassigning cascade to Activities.
Fair warning, this will mean reassigning any Contact afterward will no longer reassign Activities related to them, which might also cause problems.
Can I do this per business unit or would this need to be a global change?
It's a global change.
