I understand the reasoning to use the leads entity as stated there.
So we scan a lot of business cards into leads first as suggested by this community.
Then my next question is how to sync Leads into Outlook? Because since our sales folks will be emailing and communicating with leads to qualify them, we would like to sync leads with Outlook.
Outlook will only synch with contacts so you could either qualify you leads which will create a contract record from your lead. Alternatively you could create your leads directly as Contact records and use a field as a lead indicator.
There is no easy answer for this as it depends on how your marketing process works.
