Before asking this question, I did a lot of research on why I have no option to import and data into CRM 2015. Unfortunately I have had no luck. I am set to the security role of System Administrator and have organizational access on everything, so it can't be a security role issue. There is not even the option to import data in the Settings > Data Management > Imports section.
Why is this not available?
can you post a screenshot of your Data Management section?
strange, you should check your crm system admin (who takes care of the installation) and check if maybe a rollup update was installed recently, another check I will do is with the ribbon workbench, but you are the only user (with System Administrator role) that has this problems or affect all the users? this is another thing to check
I'm wondering if this would help:
"Actually further to my point, I experienced the same issue when the user had an "administrative" license. If it's the same issue, change the license type and that should be the end of it."
No, it is set to:
These are the rules(out of the box, unless customized):
<EnableRule Id="Mscrm.IsNotIos" />
<DisplayRule Id="Mscrm.HideForTabletExperience" />
<DisplayRule Id="Mscrm.NotOffline" />
<DisplayRule Id="Mscrm.ImportData" />
<DisplayRule Id="Mscrm.HideOnSettingsCommandBarPage" />
You have permissions, you are not offline.. This is Windows I guess.. What browser are you using - did you try another one?
Thank you for your help. I have tried on a tablet, Windows Surface and and desktop computer in IE 11, Google Chrome and Firefox and none of them are showing the option. I am going to try and find a computer with an earlier version of IE and see if that's it, but I'm not banking on that being the issue.
Thank you so much for your help with the matter- after a lot of digging I finally figured it out. It had nothing to do with permissions or anything of the sort. The code had been deleted from the Application Ribbon Definition, so I had to put it back in and that brought back the ability to import!
I met exact the same question with you when importing data and happen to find your post. May I bother you with sharing the solution?
