I wish to display a table of "Recently Viewed" items for an entity (Contacts) in a dashboard. I am using CRM 2013 on premises.
I can't find any Advanced Find options for "Recently Viewed".
That is a special functionality of CRM that you can access form every where as it is in the main Ribbon.
If you want to show the view in a dashboard, it will be quite difficult to find the command in the crm code and thus it will be clearly an unspported customization.
You can create html webresource and use UserEntityUISettings entity to retrieve recent viewed items from recentviewxml of a particular entity.
refer below link for more about UserEntityUISettingshttps://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-engagement/developer/entities/userentityuisettings
