I have this organization that was successfully migrated from 2013 to 2015.
However, when i open the browser and try to open CRM with that organization i get this error:
Unable to load plug-in type.
I found additional details in EventViewer:
Event code: 3005 Event message: An unhandled exception has occurred. Thanks in advance.
Back up your CRM database, uninstall CRM 2015 completely, then reinstall it. After reinstalling, restore your backed up database. Issues like this are frequently due to a borked app upgrade, and a reinstall of the server components themselves tends to be the easiest way to fix them.
There can be multiple reasons,
1. Old Dll's used in plugins
2. Corrupted installation
3. Incomplete upgrade
I will try below order of troubleshooting
1. If plugin registration tool works, then I will update all my plugin assemblies and workflow assemblies to CRM 2015 SDK assemblies. Do an IISReset and try again.
2. If step 1 doesn't work, I will try reinstalling
3. If step 2 fails, I will raise a ticket with microsft
