Hope this helps.
thanks for the reply.as I am trying to migrate from crm 2011 onpremis to dynamics 365 crm onpremis . I understood I have to export the customizations as solutions .and upgrade the crm from crm 2011 ->2013 and then 2013-> 2015 and then 2015->2016 and 2016-> d365. and finally import customizations or solutions.
but how do I do data migration of large data.i don't understand how I can use data migration utility or ssis to achieve data migration.please do suggest how I can perform data migration.
That's the tricky bit it depends upon what all data you want to migrate and how much large you is data. Is it in 100's 1000's or 100000s. Based on this, you could try either of the following option-
1) Excel Data Import - This is the easiest if you have less than 100000 records. This is a limit for this
2) Scribe - This would be again easiest as this is all configuration and a non developer can do the migration. This will work with large data sets. This is a paid tool.
3) Kingsway Soft SSIS: This will also work with large data sets. But a litle tricky than SSIS and requires some basic understanding of SSIS.
4) Custom Code: At last you could build your own tool to migrate data using SDK.
thanks a lot ravi .one last question .how can I evaluate the number of records. so I can use excel data import.is it record per entity or is it the overall crm records in the whole system.
You can export the record from your 2011 environment using excel export and see if it is less than 100000. If it is exactly 100000 than this means there are more than this.
You can also try the tools available in Xrm Toolbox to count the records.
