Hi Portal experts,
We are in the process of migrating our CRM onPremise 2015 to CRM online. One of our integrations include Adxstudio Portals. We already have portal site running live for CRM onpremise.
I am trying to connect to CRM online using Adxstudio 7.0.0086 version. Whenever I enter the CRM Online organisation url in the Adxstudio Portals config page, it gives me this following error.
Any clue what might be the issue?
I did some research and have upgraded the .net framework from 4.5 to 4.6.2 but still no luck. Is it to do with the Tsl 1.2 security protocol? I have added the below code as well in the setupcontroller file
Please help. Thanks in advance!
if you are moving online I would suggest for going also for the online D365 Portals
if you have too much customizations in your asp.net and cannot do that, I would first suggest upgrading your ADX Portals to the community Portal
also, have you tried updating your XRM dlls ? try getting the most updated Nuget package for the assemblies
Thanks for getting back.
Yes, I do have lot of customizations in Portals.
I am using Adxstudio Customer portal gallery, do I still need to upgrade it to Community Portal? Our organisation wants to continue using the Adxstudio portal features, but in CRM online.
I have just upgraded Microsoft.CRMSdk.Workflow and Microsoft.CRMSdk.CoreAssemblies, what else do I need to upgrade? Which versions should I upgrade it to?
Appreciate your help!
Just by updating the core assemblies.. did the connection work ?
I think that's pretty much it what you can try, if you want to keep using your current version
In case you still can't connect, try getting the source code for the community portals, than try comparing your current login code to the community one
additionally, in the future I think you might face some issues, as you are moving for CRM online, Microsoft will be doing changes into the platform, that your current ADX might stop working one day.. that's just the reason that I recommend going also for the online portals
No it didn't, still gave me the same error.
I was hoping if I could getting it working using the existing version instead of upgrading the AdxStudio Portal version as it is just a CRM connection issue.
On the other hand, which source code should I use in order to start with merging the code?
1. www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx OR,
I have lot of UI changes as well so that is going to be a bit of work. Anything else I need to be more careful about? Have you faced any challenges while doing the code merge?
Use the one from GitHub that has some fixes from the community
actually I haven't done this merge before
alright, will use the GitHub one and see how it goes.
Thanks for your valuable help!
I used Github XRM portals source code. I did get some issues at the start during compilation. I had to resolve them and now I am able to connect to CRM Online.
Good it got sorted out, do you mind marking the answer as a verified answer please ?
Hi Oliver,I have been able to merge the old code with XRM portals code and the basic functionalities are working fine. But there is a problem in using the inline content editor from the portals front end.
I am able to edit any page and make my changes but whenever I save the page, I get the following error.
Any idea about this? Not sure what went wrong over here.
I hate those error messages from the Portals that doesn't help us at all =(
Did you try editing the page directly through the Web Page record in CRM ? remember that the Web Page contains 2 record, one "root" and the other with the "content", you must edit the content
If you get the same error, it could be some CRM issue, Plugin / Workflow.. did you update your CRM solutions as according to the solutions in GIT Hub as well ? or just the source code ?
If it doesn't get any error, it could be something in your Portal source code, I would suggest you to debug to try see the real error message
In CRM, on a webpage record, there is Copy(HTML) and Summary (HTML) fields were you make the changes right? Not sure what is the root and content record?
Yes, I have updated the CRM with new XRM portals solutions. I had only removed some solutions. As some of the solutions have lot of dependencies so thought it would be tedious to remove them one by one. If I do not remove the old solutions will it impact the functionalities of new portal?
While trying to debug from the source code, I captured the following error in the developer console.
Maybe I will post this issue as a separate question in the community as well.
Thanks so much!SdDev
Open Advanced Find and select on the Web Pages records
Add the column "Is Root".. than you will see two records representing your web page, open the Non-root and edit the "Copy HTML" field
