I would like to add a contact type to multiple records ? can I bulk update the contact type on customer records?
Use Advanced Find query to fetch the needed records based on your conditions, and then select the records and click "Edit" to bulk edit.
Hi, thank you for you answer I have tried this but I cant seem to add contact types I get the message This View does not support filtering ?
I have a screen shot of the error but cant see a way of attaching it to this message ?
Did you add the "contact type" field on the contact form? make sure it is not read-only as well.
to attach a screen shot, Use rich formatting.
Thank you !
this is the error
I am getting the following error when try to edit contact types using advanced find?
Not able to see image, hope its not my browser issue
The screenshot is not displayed
However, when you open the advanced Find, Click on new in order to clear all the filtering criteria and then set your conditions to retrieve the needed records.
Maybe the error is displayed because you are building your query from a predefined view that is already contains filters.
ok great I'll give it a try
no still give me the error when I click on Contact Type
The Contact Type field is the one "customertypecode"? Which CRM version you have? because I tried to bulk update this field and it is working.
Is this Contact Type a custom field on Account ? Could you share bit more detail about the Contact Type
Hi I'm using 2016 version
Do I maybe need to make a change in the contact type view in settings : Please see screenshot
For testing purposes,
1. Create a new system View for this entity without any filtering criteria in it
2. In the form where you have this lookup, Choose the system view created in step 1
3. Publish your modifications
4. Try the bulk Edit
As I see your error message, This is not an advanced find and why are you filtering contact type.
