We would like to include a rate service as part of our case management feature and have configured emojis to be included in the survey. We have been able to add all emojis except angry - angry appears as surprised.
Microsoft uses a restricted, internally mapped emoji/icon set for survey ratings and choice labels.
When an unsupported emoji is used, the system will fall back to the closest supported glyph rather than preserving the original symbol. The 'Angry' face emoji is not part of the supported survey icon set, so they are remapped at render time.
The fallback mapping commonly resolves to the 'Suprised' emoji due to legacy icon compatibility in Segoe UI Emoji and older Power Platform renderers.
Supported workarounds include using descriptive options instead of emojis which avoids rendering issues, or building a custom PCF control.
