How to use Power Automate to set environment specific values after D365F&O database refresh

Posted on by

Hi Team

Please I need some tips on how to efficiently set up Sandbox environment specific configurations/values after database refresh.

My organisation recently went live barely four months ago and there has been constant request to refresh database for issue investigation in non-production environment. I am still learning how to manage the cloud application leveraging on my AX 2012 experience.

Going through Microsoft material there some set up to be done in sandbox after every database refresh.

I came across a contribution on the Dynamics forum suggesting using import package or Power automate to do the set up automatically but the contributor didn't state how to use any of the suggested options.

Can someone please help which how to use these two options or provide pointers to material that can help me know how use Power automate flow to automatically do the set up.

    Hi,
Basically, you can define a script and run it in target environment (e.g. UAT) to delete the prod specific values and needs to be deleted and run a new one to replace it with UAT specific setup. In UAT there will be this possibility for environment owner to run such script.
For power automate you need to check if data entities that need already exists and can be used to truncate and update data.
