Questions about the Document Routing Agent

Hi,

We are in the process of migrating D365 F&O from on premise to cloud. To enable network printing we have recently installed the Document Routing Agent and I have a few questions:

When registering new printers, is there no "Select all" function? Do I have to mark every printer?

The same goes for activating the printers in D365 FO:

Why is there no "activate all" option? This is rather time consuming, at least when we have a couple hundred printers and multiple agents. Sorry if I have just missed the options completely. I am new to Dynamics.

I also encountered an issue when changing the way we connect to the printers. First we imported all the printers to the DRA server with a printer path to a print server, instead of connecting to the printers directly. We later decided to revert this, so I deleted all the printers from D365 FO, but when I tried to register them again in the DRA agent, I got the error "Error : Response status code does not indicate success: 400 (Internal Server Error)", with no more information. It turns out the printers weren't completely deleted in D365 after all. They were not in the list of network printers, but in the "System network printers" option under "Preview" the path to the print server still existed:

Again I had to manually delete every single printer/path, as there was no "mark all" option. Deleting the paths here fixed the issue, and allowed me to register printers again. Is this by design or is it a bug?

Last question - is there any other way of enabling on premise printing from D365 other than using the Document Routing Agent? Or are there any plans of improving its functionality?

    Hi Partner,

    Did you try the button?

And please check the document about install network printer devices in on-premises environments.

Thank you for your reply, Will.

I forgot to mention that this is for a cloud implementation. I used the filter "On-prem Implementation" because i figured it was an implementation of on-premise printers. I have removed the filter and updated the post now.

I am sure i tried the the button you posted, but that I still had to change to "Active - Yes" on every single printer. We are doing a database refresh right now, but I will double check later today.

As I suspected, there is a "mark all" option in D365 F&O, but I still have to change the Active status from No to Yes for each printer individually:
