Safe to delete old patches for managed solutions?

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Some managed solutions, such as Field Service, Project Service Automation, and Unified Resource Scheduling have multiple patches showing as installed in Solutions. For example, Project Service Automation has 8 patches and are all installed. Is it safe to delete the older 7 patches, leaving only the 8th (newest) one?

Thank you!

    Hi Matt,

According to Microsoft Doc, this operation is available.

But I recommend to refer to the notice mentioned in the doc and make sure that deleting the contents of the patch does not affect the system.

    Hope it helps.

    Hi Matt Horvay,

I agree with Ravi. It is better to err on the side of caution, as it is not worth the risk for such a small benefit.

    Hi,

I personally would not suggest/recommend to delete any of these as it may impact the individual app/solution. It is better to contact Microsoft Support and either request them do the clean up or seek advise.

    Hope this helps
