We finally rolled out Dynamics 365 to our sales reps, and we are currently trying to make sure they don't break anything haha. One of our reps told us yesterday that they noticed they could not schedule Tasks and Appointments against themselves as they had in our previous CRM (Act), so they added themselves as a Contact record. We thought at one time we were told this is not a good practice, as Dynamics can get confused when the email address matches on a User record and Contact record. Our main concerns are privacy issues related to things being tracked, such as email conversations that the rep may not have directly tracked. We are not sure how that can happen, but it feels like there might be some unforeseen consequence to having our Users add themselves as a Contact (creating what we would call a Personal Record in Act). I know reps can track Activities without using the Regarding field, but it isn't always clear how you check for these Activities. Our reps were thinking they would go to their User record to see all of their self scheduled tasks, but it is only showing Post history on their User record Timeline. We have shown them how they can see these Activities in the Activity section, but that hasn't fully clicked with them at this point. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations of how we might handle this? We are open to any ideas, thank you for your help!
