Cortana Failing to Fetch CRM ata

Hi all,

I'm trying out the preview feature that is Dynamics 365 integration with Cortana.

I have enabled the feature in the Dynamics CRM settings, and have enabled Cortana on Windows 10 as well as Windows Phone 8.1

Both of the devices have the region and language set to English (United States). In fact, Cortana works correctly on both them.

I have then connected Cortana to CRM through the notebook (and through the Dynamics 365 App on mobile) but unfortunately I get the following message:

Fetching CRM data failed

We couldn't fetch data from your organization at the moment. Only Dynamics CRM 2016 organizations are supported.

This is not true according to all Microsoft sources, and even so I have tried with a CRM 2016 Update organization and still get the same message.

On the phone it doesn't even show this message.

Any solutions to this problem?

No, actually I was logging in with a Local account and then Cortana Notebooks forced me to use a Microsoft account to activate the functionality, and this switched the Windows account to that Microsoft account.

Maybe logging into windows with the Office 365/CRM account would do it but I'm afraid I can't test that at the moment.

However, I doubt that this would solve the issue as it also occurs on mobile, where you don't have the possibility of logging in or anything like that. I'm pretty sure its wholly dependent on Cortana itself, as in, the credentials you use with Cortana and the CRM connector withing Cortana.

If anyone else can test this it would be great though.

    Hi DynamicsFeilts,

Does the user account you used to login to your PC, have access to Dynamics 365 (CRM) instance?
