Get option set values from a lookup field's record using Javascript.

Posted on by 105

Essentially, when an expense category is selected in the 'Quick Create: Expense' screen.

Once the Category is selected this triggers the Javascript.

I need the Javascript on the quick create form to automatically get the option set value of the selected category's  'expense type'.

Up to now, I've been using FetchXML to get values from lookup record, but I feel as though there is a cleaner method to do this I'm not aware of.
I don't have much experience with APIs, but would be willing to implement with the proper guidance.

I'm having a hard time finding an up to date breakdown of what I need to do. Could anyone here offer me guidance or a link to point me in the right direction?

    Hello,

I would highly recommend using DataVerse RestBuilder tool for that operation - using it you will be able not only to build the right query but get a code snippet you will be able to use - github.com/.../DRB
