Dynamics 365 app for Outlook - option grayed out in compose new message

I have the dynamics 365 app for Outlook in the desktop version of Outlook 2016. Everything seems to be working great, except that when I compose a new email the Dynamics 365 button is grayed out.

The option is available when I create a new appointment, or reply to an email without popping out the window. As soon as I pop-out the 'reply to email' window the option grays out again.

The documentation suggests that the button should be available when composing an email in the pop-out window (as there is no way of composing a new email without the pop-out window).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Yes, this exactly what happens with me. Removing the signature will make this button active again

    In my case, the button is inactive if I sign a new email with a digital signature (email certificate), which I have set as a default. If I remove the signature, save the email as a draft, and then reopen the email, the button is active.

    I've exactly the same problem with my Outlook. Mimecast (Verified Answer here after) is not installed, nor Avast Antivirus. I've tried to remove my own AV, and also other Components, without result. Any other solution ?

    I've had the same problem with my Outlook. I found that disabling the Avast COM Add-in and then restarting Outlook did the trick. If you're not running Avast, maybe you have a similar antivirus add-in that's blocking things?

    It is only greyed out on the compose email screen. It works without any problems with all received emails. However, the "Office Add-ins" button is also greyed out on the compose email screen...

    I experience the very same issue and I don't have any additional Add-ins installed. 

    Any idea what the problem could be?

    It appears the Mimecast Outlook plugin clashes with the Dynamics App for Outlook. Once I removed the Mimecast plugin everything worked perfectly.
