How to show the key interaction history of a case record

Hi,

I have a requirements to show of the key interactions of the Case entity as case history in the form in-order to provide users key highlights of the case. I am thinking of using a custom activity entity to hold the key movements and define a workflow to feed each key movement into this custom entity then show it in a sub grid or in a html web resource in an iframe on the case form.

Is there any better ideas or implementations available?
