Maximum batch threads on Server Configuration

We went live in the early days of D365. Currently maximum batch threads is set to 4 on our server configuration which seems is too low.

Our plan is to check with Microsoft how many cores are available on each AOS (with have two) and set the max number of batch threads to the same value. (We don't know where this value resides, LCS does not seem to show the number of cores).

Do you see any issues with this plan? Anything we need to check perhaps.

Thanks in advance.

    Hi Harry,
By querying relevant documents, it is found that the default value of the maximum number of batch processing threads is 8. You can increase it to 12 or 16, but it is best not to exceed 16.

    Thanks Hana.

Yes, we did look at the Microsoft documentation. However, my management is not going to let me off the hook that easily :) Do you think we need to confirm anything else with Microsoft other than the number of cores?

    regards

    Hi Harry,
I don't have much experience with this, and the documentation only mentions that the maximum number of batch threads is set in the server configuration, and its limit is related to the number of cores of your AOS server.
Additionally, Batch throttling can prevent excessive tasks by limiting the average number of executions of a certain batch class per minute. The default upper-bound is 60 tasks per minute. This is also a point that can be set.
