Auto Populate / Set Default Financial Dimension for a Sales Order Based on the Sales Order Address

Hi All,

I am working on a requirement to automatically populate or set the Sales Representative in the SalesRepresentativeTest financial dimension based on the city entered in the Sales Order delivery address.

Here's what I have done so far:

  • Created a backing table view named DimAttributeCommissionSalesRepTable based on the CommissionSalesRep table.
  • CommissionSalesRep fields: AddressCity, URSName, URSPartyNumber
  • DimAttributeCommissionSalesRepTable fields:
    • Key: RecID
    • Value: URSPartyNumber
    • Name: URSName
  • Created and activated a financial dimension called SalesRepresentativeTest.
  • Added SalesRepresentativeTest to the Sales Order page.
  • I am able to get the lookup for the SalesRepresentativeTest financial dimension as expected.

Now, I need to automatically set the SalesRepresentativeTest value based on the Sales Order's delivery address.

Could anyone please guide me on how to access and set the SalesRepresentativeTest field in X++ code based on the city of the Sales Order address?

    Is there only one city per sales representative or can the same sales representative be linked to multiple cities? It the same representative can be use for multiple cities, your data model isn't suitable for your requirements.
