Use drop down field value to become the name of the record when saved

Posted on by 2,645

Hello,

I am working with a form and on this form there is a primary key of "name" and it is a text box. This field when filled in becomes the actual name of the record. Now I am tasked with creating a new field, lets call it "field A" and it will be a drop down field. The field value of this drop down field now needs to become the actual name of the record, can this be done? If so how?

    Hi USA80,

You can create one real-time workflow to copy drop down field value to the name field.

    1.Go Settings > Process:

    2.Set workflow:

    3.Add steps--update record--set properties

    4.Save and active it.
