How to enable quick create form of a custom entity from another standard entity?

Hi,

i want to leverage the standard quick create form (plus icon) functionality of an entity A to enable creation of my custom entity record.

Standard Entity A

Custom Entity B

when we are at entity A and have any record opened. Using the plus icon on top right corner (which allows for quick create for Lead, Account, Contact, Opportunity records etc) i would want to enable my custom entity name to also show up there so i can create a record of it without having to navigate away from entity A.

i understand it may involve teh relationship between the two entities.

i already have created N:1 and 1:N both between  B and A . still its not showing up.

Please suggest what am I missing ?

    Hi,

You are using hub. Ok, please follow below steps to show the quick create form.

I am using case as an example

    1586.11.PNG

open the app designer and select entities

    3630.9.PNG

    Select the case

    5706.10.PNG

click the case and make sure quick create form is ticked. by default should be ticked. After that save and publish.

    Result

    8666.12.PNG

    Hi Alex,

i just tried that doesnt work still. However,  i was looking at other entities  and for "COntact" and my custom entity there is firstly a Referential relationship and second, lookup field inst Business required but still from Contacts i'm able to see a quick create entry for my entity.

Additionally, i didn't create any relationship with "Leads" and just verified that even from Leads i"m able to see a quick create for my entity.

Not sure then why it isn't showing from Work Order entity from where i actually want it to be seen and created.

    Hi ,

after you set the allow quick create, did you publish the changes? I would advice you try to publish all again.

    Hi Leo,

i want absolutely that only. your first image shows you are at Opportunity record and then you click plus icon and you see custom entity. Im just not ableto see it from my entity which is "Work Order". and now that Field Service application is only available as a hub app i'm not sure if that has caused any difference. attaching screenshot.

    Hi partner,

If you mean the requirement like the picture shows below.

    community116.png

You just need to go to the edit page of your custom entity and select "allow quick create" then publish it.

    community116.png

You should also create a quick create form for the custom entity and here is the steps provided by Microsoft.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-engagement/customize/create-edit-quick-create-forms

    Hope it helps.

    Best Regards,

    Leo
