MSCRM 365 license issue

I have migrated from 2016 onprem to 365 onprem. My 2016 license was almost about to expire before migration(20 days left).

As said now im into 365, will the new license of 2016 applicable to 365? I have left over licenses for 2016, so thinking it will set here. In the deployment manager it accepted the 2016 license, but when i validated the expiry date for the new license, it still showing 10 days left.

Do i need to buy fresh license? Please let me know the best suggestion.

There are different license types, which behave differently. Some OnPremise licenses are perpetual (i.e. have no expiry date), but if yours do have an expiry date, then you will have to extend them, or buy new licenses.

Microsoft changed the licensing from 2016 to 365. As far as I know, it's no longer possible to buy 2016 licenses that are supported for 365, so you'll need to buy under the 365 license model. However, there may be upgrade offers available
