Nulling a Lookup with Flow

(0) ShareShare

In an entity I have 3 fields which are lookups to different entities.

How do I null these values in a flow?

I've seen something about unrelating the lookup fields, but I have no requirement to unrelate them from the entity. Simply to null those 3 fields which are there for a specific reason.

Thanks
Lee

    Lee,

Here is an article that describes it - www.msdynamicduo.com/.../how-to-clear-lookup-values-on-updates-using-the-new-cds-connector

Thank you, I have already read this.

But as I said I do not want to disassociate the link, I want to clear 3 fields.

The fields I have created are not available in the Relationship drop down.

It appears to be a list of 1:N relationships in the Relationship drop down.

The lookups I need to clear are N:1

I do not have the GUID's available for what needs to be cleared from the field. The value of the lookups is irrelevant to this flow. I just need them clearing.

I can't understand why something so simple as just putting null in the field when updating a record has been discontinued!

    Lee,

I'm afraid it is what it is and you can't work around it. In order to clean up your lookup fields, you will have to use disassociate. In order to get those "related" ids that you don't have, you can use "Get Record" to get values of lookups to be used in the Dissasociate operation. And if there is no relationship available - just flip your main entity and related one - in this case, it will be a 1-N relationship.

    Good luck.

Right ok, it seems like an utterly ridiculous situation for something that could previously have been done with a simple null expression.

Is there somewhere I can provide feedback to Microsoft about this?

    Lee,

You can use this forum for this purpose - powerusers.microsoft.com/.../PA_Comm_Ideas

If my reply (or replies) answers your question take a minute and verify the answer. You can do it by clicking "Yes" at the top of the reply (or replies) under the label "Does this answer your question?"
