Cannot open records from a view for a custom entity in the Unified Interface

Hi Community,

Has anyone expierenced problems when opening a record for a custom entity in a view in the Unified interface?

I can open the record in the old client interface. I can open the record from the Advanced Find view when in the Unified Interface,

I just cannot open it from a normal view in the unified interface.

I have tried non sys admin and with sys admin roles.

    Hi Debbie,

    Thank you for the information.

    I also opened a support ticket and received a similar resolution.

    They state that the ribbon metadata was not generated for these entities. It can be forced to regenerate by exporting a solution with the entity and re-importing it. So you can add all affected entities (add all components + entity metadata) to a solution, export it unmanaged and import it again without any other change. That fixes the issue. No need for a managed solution.

    Hi Toby,

    Actually, I did receive feedback from Microsoft this week.

    Their solution is as follows:

    Step1:

    Create a new solution  in Dev instance and the add the issue facing entity in that solution.

    Step2:

    Export that solution as managed .

    Step 3:

    Import the managed solution in the Prod instance.This will resolve your issue.

    I have not yet tested it out yet myself though.

    Hi Partner,

    The Dynamics 365 App also uses Unified Interface to show data so that you could not open the records in both of them.

    You could stop all js functions on your entity form and try again.

    If the issue still exists, I recommend that you could raise a ticket to Microsoft from Admin center and let the engineer check the background log for you according to the time of the issue happened and your organization url.

    Hi Leo,

    That is the odd thing. There is no error message. The page does not seem to load.

    I have tried clicking on the name (hyperlink). I have tried double clicking on the line itself.

    Another strange thing is that other hyperlinks to other entity records can be opened from that same view...

    I tried both in Firefox and in Chrome and in both, I am experiencing the same issue.

    And another thing, i also cannot open up these records from the CRM App on my phone (i-phone 7, latest App and latest OS)

    When you trying to open the record from view in Unified Interface, did you meet any issues or error message?

    If so, please kindly share more information like screenshots or error message.

    If you clicked on the record and there was no response, please check if the browser blocked your access and you could try another browser.
