I understand this isn't typically the place for non-tech questions, but I am hoping that a partner or someone @ Microsoft would be able to provide the answer.
The whole subscription transition from CRM 2016 Online to Dynamics 365 subscriptions makes sense to me. Adding Dyn 365 subscription, applying the appropriate promo code, cancelling the CRM Pro/Basic/Essential subscriptions, etc. And that the transition price is locked for 3 years. Let's say this client is a Direct O365 subscriber.
What if client has 50 CRM Online Pro licenses now and wants to transition to 75 Dyn Ent Plan 1 licenses? According to all of the documentation sent out by Microsoft, client should only be able to transition existing user count to the new subscription? Is this correct or am I not understanding correctly?
Also, if the client 3 months down the road updates the subscription license quantity and adds 10 more licenses, will those licenses be added at the promo rate or list price?
When I test out on an existing client (before completing the transition), it is allowing me to put any quantity in the new 365 Plan subscription and apply the promo discount to all those users.
Thanks for any help.
