Shopify connector doesn't add SHPFY variant title to BC items

Hello,

I have the problem when I'm using "SKU Mapping = Item code" on the Shopify Shop card to sync the products, i. e. for generating new Business Central (BC) items for each Shopify variant. My problem is all BC items have the same name and the Shopify variant attributes

Variant01
Variant02
Variant03

are not passed on to the BC item card. Sync direction is from Shopify to BC.

This are my variants in Shopify, they are called "Black" and "Bronze":

and this is how it looks on the item list in BC. They are just called like the product, without any appending of the variant:

The name of the BC item with "SKU mapping = item code" should rather be something like "[Shopify product name] - [Shopify Variant 1 attribute] | [Shopify Variant 2 attribute] | [Shopify Variant 3 attribute]". In my example: TEST01-V1 should be called "Testprodukt | Black" on the BC item card.

Can Microsoft developers check the connector please and give me feedback on this.

Regards

Chris

    Hi there!

    - do you have any logs you can provide of the synchronization between BC and Shopify?
    - what version are you running - did this start occurring after a recent update?
    - here are two links to check out as well

    Hi Holly,

Thank you. What's the currently programmed behavior of the connector for a sync bc-to-shopify with SKU mapping = item code? Are the Shopify variant attributes added to the BC item card?

    If yes:
    • Where can I get the logs?
    • Version I will send
    • The links don't work. Can you please resend them?
    Regards

Thank you Khushbu Rajvi. This doesn't help unfortunately. It's the wrong sync direction in the post you sent.

Can somebody from the BC Shopify Connector team please check this? I don't have variant attributes in BC item descriptions when using "SKU Mapping = Item code" on the Shopify Shop card to sync the products. All my Shopfiy variants have the same title as BC items. This is stupid.

Hi, It is recommended to send Shopify-related issues to the BC Yammer Group. Microsoft technicians should be able to give you better suggestions after seeing them.

    Thanks.

In the standard Shopify connector, Business Central creates items based on the SKU mapping but does not bring over the variant title/attributes into the Item Description. That’s why all synced items show the same name. If you want Shopify variant attributes (like “Black” or “Bronze”) to appear on the BC item card, you’ll need either:

    • a customization/extension to map the Shopify variant title to Description or another field, or
    • maintain them manually after sync.

Out-of-the-box, BC won’t add the variant title automatically.
