Need to import data into the dynamics 365 online using word document(.docs format) file

Hello Everyone,

I'm working on the dynamics 365 online. And I've a requirement to import the data into the dynamics 365 . The file format which we are getting from the customer is in word document(.docs format).

I have tried to find the way for importing the word data into the dynamics 365 but I'm not able to do it.

Can anyone tell me that, is there any way to import the data into the dynamics 365 using the word document. We also ask them to use the another format like .xls, .csv etc... but are not agreeing for that.

So Please suggest me a way to import the data into the dynamics 365 using docs format.

    Hi Quraishi,

    You need to Install Office addins if you don't have one in your visualstudio.

    There is no OOB stuff that Imports data with Word Docs.

    Have you tried extracting data manually from Word to Xls or csv? If yes, Is that a lot work for you? 

    If you don't want to introduce manual steps and the data structure in the doc is consistent then I would suggest to write either a VSTO addin or a console app that pick up file from a location and read the data and Import to CRM. I appreciate this required a developer.
