Deprecation of Dialogs

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello,

I have been informed that Microsoft will be dropping support for Dialogs within Dynamics 365 in the July update. I know we are able to delay the update for 6 months (which is all well and good). However we need to look into what speed the dialogs will be deprecated as of July. Will it be a case where all previous dialogs will still work and we will be able to maintain them, or will it go to a level where the functionality is entirely disabled?

For us, this is a major issue because our CRM custom solution runs largely off of dialogs.

We are aware of the Mobile Task Flows that have been recommended as the replacement for Dialogs, however we are struggling to recreate what we did with dialogs.

If i am asking too many questions in one thread then please let me know and i will create a separate thread. The priority is understanding what speed the deprecation will occur.

    Deprecation of Dialogs

    Hello,

There is a tool on Microsoft AppSource called Enquiry 360 which can help to replace very complex dialogs and replicate the functionality, as a good measure to put in place before the Dialogs are entirely disabled. Please see below link to the app on AppSource -

the july update in currently under preview so nobody knows after the preview hat happens, but for what I can understand (based on the public information available), deprecation of the dialogs means that they will continue to work on the july update but you need to rethink the use of them, because in next release (9.x or 10.x or as they will want to call it) probably they will be removed.
