How to Install and use Plugin Registration Tool

Hello,





I followed the instructions described here to get the Plugin Registration Tool from the Package Console Manager in Visual Studio.

The operation was successful, as the Package Manager Console in VS says:
"Successfully installed 'Microsoft.CrmSdk.XrmTooling.PluginRegistrationTool 9.1.0.155' ."


What should I do next?

I want to have the Plugin Registration Tool installed on my pc and open it, but I'm not sure whether this is the correct procedure.
I am supposed to open it as it was a standard tool installed on my pc.

    • download the package from the link "Download package" (right side of the NuGet Gallery page)
    • Rename the file from .nupkg to .zip
    • unblock the file (right click, properties, check the unblock option and click ok)
    • extract the zip to a folder
    • copy the "tools" folder to a path of your choice
    • rename the "tools" folder to "Plugin Registration Tool" or another name of your choice
    • inside this folder you can launch PluginRegistration.exe

    Plugin Registration tools is an stand alone application and all you have to do is to go to the directory where you installed. I.e C:\DevTools\PluginRegistration

    Then double click on PluginRegistration app.
