Sharepoint Images and Dynamics Knowledge Articles

Posted on by 10

I am creating KB articles in Dynamics 365 and want to add images to the articles. We keep our image repository in a folder within Sharepoint. I can add the link to the image in the articles and can see the broken thumbnail, but when I ctrl click on the image link within the HTML portion of the KB article, it pulls up the actual image, but when I go to Designer view or Preview in the KB screen, I just get the broken thumbnail, so I'm not able to view what the live KB article would look like. Is there a way to view the "live" version to see if it will show the image and so I can see if I need to edit the article?

Thanks

    Hi joekerr,

    Does your broken thumbnail means the screenshot belw when you add the link to image ?

    001.PNG

    And you "ctrl click on the image" operation means below?

    I just cannot reproduce your Designer view or Preview in the KB screen with broken thumbnail, it's just a blank area.

    If so, the direct generated share link will just navigate user to a viewer page instead of a real image address,

    you could copy image address in the viewing tab:

    003.png

    You'll get a long string for image location, just add a image element with the link.

    then a live image is available for both Designer and Preview mode:

    005.PNG

    However, you should notice that once using with the real link, the image will be a public file,

    all visitors can download it  on your Portal;

    While for shared URL with org domain, only members in your organization can view it.

    Regards,

    Clofly
