We have adjust cost running on job queue nightly. There is a request to have an "exception report for daily change in inventory unit costs done by the adjust cost job". Basically they are wanting a before and after picture of the unit cost on items that were adjusted that night. First thought was to schedule inventory valuation report to run before and after adjust cost but those are both large reports and we already have a lot of jobs scheduled on the job queue on different tiers. It took a long time for us to gain stability on the job queue and I'm concerned about running the inventory valuation twice a night along with all of our other jobs. I wish that the adjust cost cost could produce a report to show changes that could be emailed. Or maybe there's an existing report that shows this that I don't know about. Has anyone had any experience with this as a mod or know of an existing report?
What about doing it from the SQL side ? You can create an SQL query that move the inventory data into another database and do comparison there. It's way faster.
