If any absence is recorded in AX 2012 for any employee, can we associate any earning code with that ? How to mark that absence as paid time off ? Otherwise AX will treat that absence as unpaid leaves.
Similarly, the difference between Leave and Absence in AX is also required.
the absence codes has a part where you can fill in a main account and an offset account if that is what you mean? It is findable under time and attendance.
If you are using the Absence Administration in AX where you create an absence journal, enter the absence registrations, transfer them for approval, absences are approved or rejected, and then moved to history or sent back to be edited, then within this process, you cannot associate an earnings code. You do not have the ability there to specify the earnings code in that process.
Within the Absence Administration, the terms "Absence" and "Leave" are somewhat interchangeable, but I would state that differentiation there would be based on setting up different "Absence Codes" for each. I have a client that has about 30 codes with 4 or 5 for different types of leave (Military, FMLA, Medical, STD, LTD, etc.)
Hope that helps.
