I am running a recent AX 2012 VM (downloaded from PS here: https://mbs.microsoft.com/partnersource/deployment/methodology/vpc/ax2012demotoolsmaterials.htm.
The problem is that I cannot get Sharepoint to work. I have checked IIS configuration, services, among other usual suspects. Funny thing is, Sharepoint Central Admin site is running correctly, but:
1) I cannot get Sharepoint Web Services to work (I get a 503 - service unavailable error) - of course I checked the services and can't find any service that should logically be started to run it and isn't started already.
2) Subsequently, EP fails to start, which of course doesn't let me run Role Center.
3) Also (I assume the reason is common) I cannot get the "Generate from template" function in AX to work when I want to showcase the Office integration.
Any help would be very appreciated.
I found a solution for that issue here:
It's simply a mapping of the dynamics.contoso.com start url to localhost via hosts file
Hope that helps you too.
Thanks a lot, Klaus. It worked fine as far as Role Centers and EP go. Now I'm going to check the document generation from templates.
