I'm using the CRM for iPad app to connect to my organization. I've made some changes to the form (added some custom fields), but I don't see the fields on the iPad.
I already complete closed the app, but it doesn't pick up the changes...
What should I do?
To make it works, the users should download the metadata and update it,
If new metadata is found, you will be prompted to download it.
Any prompt message?
Check this out:
Especially this section:
Customization changes do not appear in CRM for tablets
Cause 1: The customizations (metadata) from your Microsoft Dynamics CRM organization are cached on your device. The app checks for updated metadata after 24 hours or any time you reopen the app. For customization changes to become available immediately, you must completely close and then reopen the app. If new metadata is found, you will be prompted to download it. For more information on how to completely close an app, refer to the help for your operating system or reference one of the articles provided:
Windows 8: How do I close an app?
iPad: Force an app to close
Cause 2: You may be seeing a different form than the one you customized. If you have multiple forms for an entity, you will see the first form in the form order that you have access to. This is different than the web application where you see the last form you used and have the ability to change between forms.
Hope this helps.
Hi Aileen, thanks for your answer.
But I already tried forcing to close the app. But the changes don't sync...
When I uninstall the app en re-install, then I see the changes on the form. But we cannot ask our users the do this everytime we change something, right?
I've noticed my iPad was still on iOS7. I'm updating now to iOS8.2
I also don't see the Reconfigure option, only logout...maybe updating the iOS brings a new version of the CRM app...
To be continued...
Yes, I am using CRM 2015 and iOS 8.2
Whenever I publish new functionality/features in CRM, when I log back into the CRM app, I am prompted to download changes made the CRM administrator.
Hope this helps
Ok, I finally found a workaround to debug:
So keep in mind: if you get en error on ipad and don't know what it means: try installing the Windows 8 app and you possibly get more info...
And on topic: to get the latest changes I had to reïnstall the app every time, both on ipad and Windows 8...strange...
