I would like to send un email to User when it is the Contact's birthday. I have created a worklow to do that with:
condition: if Contact:birthday equal [Contact:birhtaday]
Then send an email.
I receive an email the day after of the burthday Date.
What I whould modifief
would you mind posting the screenshot of the condition.
ideally i dont recommend running waiting condition workflows which are lying for months and years , hence you can have a look on the below :
Batchjobs(console application) are recommended instead of workflow.
I don't see where I can join a file or copy the screenshot
I am not so technical for doing that.
Another idea !
If you want to add a screenshot, click the "use rich formatting" link below the reply window.
you could follow the instructions on this blog to create scheduled workflows - blog.clickdimensions.com/how-to-schedule-workflows-in-microsoft-crm-online
The workflow does not run. No sent email and Nothing is waiting with a birthday's Contact today for ex.
What I should change in this workflow.
Another way to schedule emails in crm is using microsoft flows. Following link may help you:
How does it work: a birthday date is always a past value. Whatever a condition or a Timeout in the workflow, the birthday date is never equal date of today for ex.
Hi Duhot ,
Seems you need to change the behavior of the birth day filed . You need to go to birth day field and change the behavior and of the date filed with date only instead of datetime.
Hope this will help you.
Please dont forget to mark as answer if its resolve your issue.
We don't have Date as Type for the attribue.
You are comparing with which filed in CRM? what is the field type in CRM? it should be date field with behavior and format date only.
The name is: birthdate.
The type is Datetime
Yes just go to entity --> Fields --> double click the birthdate field --> you can see in the field properties there is two option --> 1. Format and 2. behavior --> Select the both the type "Date Only"
have a look at the screenshot and discussion here:
The idea is that, in the workflow, you need to:
- Wait until the next birthdate
- Send an email
- Add 12 months to the birthdate so that another instance of the same workflows does it again
Which also means you need to create a workflow, and, then, update all those contacts with the "next" birthdate ("next" for each of the contacts). Maybe excel export/import will help with that.
Otherwise, it might be a better option to just develop an external utility and schedule it to run somewhere (it'll go to CRM, get the contacts, check which one has a birthdate today, and send the emails through CRM)
Here is the attached filed properties
