XMLport contains SalutationCode, FirstName, MiddleName, Surname, Address, City, MobilePhoneNo, Email, SalesPersonCode from table, Contacts
I try to check if record already exists in database, like this:
MESSAGE ('Contact(s) importations successful');
Contact - Import: : OnAfterInitRecord()
code use checking record already exist
Contact.INIT;Contact.VALIDATE(Name);ERROR('Record already exist');
Contact - Import: :OnBeforeInsertRecord()
employerrec .RESET;IF employerrec .GET(Contact."Company No.")= FALSE THEN ERROR ('Invalid Employer code for ' + Contact.Surname +' ' + Contact."First Name" +' '+ Contact."Middle Name" );Contact."Company Name":=employerrec."Company Name PenCom";
It keep saying "Record already exists" when I import new entries. Thanks
1st of all, I would like to say you that it looks like grenade exploded inside your code. :)
Next, please, explain:
1. Why do you generate error message in OnAfterInit trigger?
2. Why do you use Employee table if is's used to store data about your company's employee?
Obviously, OnAfterInit is triggered before... remove the error message from that trigger.
to check if contact already exists you could use that:
Contact - Import::OnBeforeInsertRecord()
// loc. var. contact2 / record / Contact
contact2.SETRANGE("First Name",Contact."First Name");
IF contact2.FINDFIRST THEN BEGIN
MESSAGE('Contact "' + Contact."First Name" + ' ' + Contact.Surname + ' already exists. Skipping ...');
