I have some users whose activity can be described as "Read-only" users, they don't make changes to the data, post, or download any reports, they just log in check for the data they are looking for, and close the session.
The thing is that they are sometimes consuming all the available NAV seats leaving out someone that needs to make changes.
is there a way to limit the login for these "Read-only" users to be from a specific PC?
maybe adding a filter for MAC address, or in the user setup, link the user to a PC MAC address or IP range pool?
or something that help me to avoid "Read-only" users from login on their own computers all at the same time.
Since you are using 2009, not sure if there is any standard feature, but for that I think you can ask for the customization from your development partner, basis on the User logged in from the User setup ID, and you can also use session table if there is, to close the session forcefully.
Not on standard.
With customization or an SQL script, you can look at session table and delete the unintended sessions.
Hi, You can restrict user login from the router side, but this feature is not out-of-box in NAV.And, I'm not sure if there is a Limited User License in NAV2009. This license is cheap and can only modify part of the data.Hope the following link can help you.
