Has anyone tried adding a phone number link into an email template?
I am coding the email through html, not using the designer
When I send the email, the link adds "http://" to the telephone link. This behaviour does not occur with a "emailto:" style link.
Please read this previous thread:
All tested in Gmail:
This syntax works for both desktop and mobile:(recommended)
<a data-msdyn-tracking="false" href="tel://12345">Call us 1</a>
Only works on desktop:
<a data-msdyn-tracking="false" href="callto://12345">Call us 2</a>
Legend, thanks to the quick reqly
Does this method still work?
My colleague (who has very good code ability) and myself inserted the syntax into a content block, which builds up an email. When we view the content block we see it correctly.
When we view the html in the email we have inserted the content block into, we see:
It replaces with #. That part of the email is also locked for editing.
Do you have any thoughts on the issue?
I have tested, somehow "tel://xxx" will be removed forcefully in both content block and marketing email if I add it manually.
But if you add href by editor tool, it still works.
Hello Clofly,Thank you for reply. Unfortunately, I am having no luck with that method. Kind regards,
Did it not work for both marketing email and content block in your environment?
In my environment which has enabled 2020 wave 1 early access, the method still didn't work even if I add phone number with editor dialog in content block and add the block in marketing email, but it worked when I attach phone number to text directly in marketing email.
I have only tried in the content block as with this communication we don't have option of editing the email as it's built up with content blocks. The is because the content is dynamic in relation to booking data.
Do you thinking raising a ticket could provide some insight?
I suggest you could post what you've found to Ideas forum.
Because it would be more related to product feature improvement.
Cool. Thanks Clofly.
