I have a campaign with some campaign activities. They are connected to a dynamic marketing list. Once every week I want to update the marketing list and distribute the campaign activities to the new members of the the marketing list. But I can't, because the "Distribute campaign activities" is disabled. It is only enabled the first time I distribute a campaign activity. Is this function by the design in MS CRM 2011? Are the any changes in newer versions?
Dynamic marketing list gets saved as a query and at the time of distribution it will fetch all the records that fall under the criteria given in the dynamic marketing list. So whenever you run a campaign activity using a dynamic marketing list, it will send emails to each record (old or new) falling under its criteria. As per my understanding of your second issue, one campaign activity can be distributed only once, if you want to send the email again, you must create another activity and distribute it using the same marketing list.
Hope I was able to understand your issue and this is helpful to you.
Thanks, the answer was in "one campaign activity can be distributed only once". I was hoping to be able to repeatingly distribute the same campaign activity to new accounts/contacts, but then I'll have to find another solution. Thanks again!
Were you able to figure out another solution to your issue? I want to do the same thing. Send the same campaign activities (with a date change) to the new names on a marketing list every week. It seems if I create a new activity though, it doesn't let me select which names to send to and it redistributes to the entire list again?
