How to add Accounts into Procurement Category

Posted on by 18,383 Super User

May I kindly ask you the below please?

My expected result is when I am creating PO from AP, I need one of the 'Procurement Category' to be used, however there are missing accounts, which needs to be added to one of the Procurement Category, however I had no luck to get the same account added into that category.

Below is my expected result, where I want one account '7584- Other professional services' to be added into 'MISCELLANEOUS' (Procurement Category), however as the same account is not added, I cant take the same, hence kindly let me know how to add accounts to Procurement Category?

But in Procurement Category option there is no option to add accounts into Procurement Category.

Kindly let me know how to add Accounts to Procurement Category, after that I can take that while creating purchase Order.

Thanks in advance.

Thank you, I've found this can be done from   Product Information Management->Setup-> Categories and Attributes-> Category Hierarchies

From Category Hierarchies, there is an option called +New Category Node, from there we can add accounts to Procurement Categories.

However, I am making your suggestion as answer as it helped me to understand the fact.

Thank you once again Ludwig for your extended assistance as always.

    Hello Ramit,

The ledger accounts that are used when you post a PO with a procurement category are setup in the inventory posting matrix that can be found under inventory/setup/posting/posting. In this form, there is a purchase order tab and the accounts used are defined in the 'purchase expenditure for expense section'.

    Best regards,
