I am facing the following error during Async server installation in Dynamics AX R3. Please help.
-- Pop up window message :
"There is a problem with windows installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."

I have the same issue did you ever get a solution to this?
I have installed the Async Server Message DB in SQL Server 2012 Express. The problem solved by enabling the Named Pipes and TCP/IP through SQL Server configuration manager.
I have already enable the Named Pipes and TCP/IP through SQL Server configuration manager but still got error
I am facing the same issue. All of my protocols are enabled for my SQL instance. Anyone ever get the resolution for this?

Thanks for the reply, Async server is successfully Installed, I'm able to browse site , everything seems to be fine, Test connection is successful, but this error happens when i install Async Client component only.
Even though i Installed SQLCMD util objects and tried to reinstall Async Client, got the same error.

Try installing Async Client and required components in some other machine, it worked for me.

Please install Async Server without configuration and after that install configuration with power shell. Thanks
We are facing the same error during installation of Retail Server. SQLCMD is already installed.
Anybody has any idea.
Just install the component and configure manually via Powershell script

I have the same problem when installing the Async Clinet. Can any one tell me what can be the possible solutions. Thank you.
Kindly uninstall the SQLCLR Types component , and reinstall for specific version from the below links:
X86 version, X64 version
Also kindly reinstall all the prerequisites required for all POS components, it worked for me, as some component is mismatched with the versions installed , which is causing the error at installation.
